In the summer of 1999, my daughter and I traveled to London, Rome and Palermo. My sister joined us in Sicily, and the food was so good we cried! Ti amo, famiglia! We took the train through Messina. The train rides onto tracks in the belly of a ferry and takes you across the water. Beautiful joy! My cousin and his friend sent my letter and screenplay to His Holiness Pope John Paul II.

"Breath of God" was later blessed by Our Most Holy Father, and given high honors by the Vatican Headmaster of Arts and Culture. Talk about dressed for success!
While visiting London, we met a lovely Scotsman who helped us plan. By 2000, I knew what to do. I would travel to the Highland Games in Crieff. The Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting announced that "Breath of God" was a semifinalist, in the top 7% worldwide. And "Making Angels" was born.
In the summer of 2001, I applied to Ladyfest Glasgow. The day I discovered that I'd been accepted, I also found out that Ewan McGregor was the Chieftain at the Highland Games that year! I went, I sought, and handed Ewan the screenplay for "Breath of God" over a low fence.

Ewan McGregor! I've come all the way from Los Angeles to see you!

(chuckles)
